National Ride the Wind Day

National Ride the Wind Day celebrates the anniversary of the first human-powered flight to win the Kremer Prize and more broadly honours flight, air sports and the thrill of movement through the sky. National Ride the Wind Day celebrates the joy of wind-powered activities such as sailing, flying kites and related outdoor recreation. Activities such as kite flying, gliding and aviation-themed events connect the observance with creativity, engineering and outdoor fun.

Event suggestions:
• Creating eco-art displays reflecting habitats, seasons, and care
• Listening to local stories about land, water, and responsibility
• Mapping environmental connections through science, culture, and creativity
