06 April
Tartan Day celebrates Scottish heritage, particularly in North America. Originating in Canada, the day is now observed in several places through parades, pipe bands, Highland dancing, tartan displays and events that recognise Scottish culture, migration and identity.
Event Suggestions:
• Explore tartan patterns and their links to Scottish heritage
• Listen to bagpipe music or learn about Highland dance traditions
• Create a display about Scottish migration, symbols and community identity
