Ridván, especially its first day, marks the beginning of the Most Great Festival in the Bahá’í Faith. It commemorates Bahá’u’lláh’s public declaration of his mission in the Garden of Ridván in 1863. The festival is celebrated with prayer, joy, reflection and community gatherings centred on unity, peace and the oneness of humanity.
