Ramadan begins

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar and is observed by Muslims worldwide as a time of fasting, prayer, charity and reflection. From dawn to sunset, many Muslims fast as an act of spiritual discipline, while evenings often include family meals, community gatherings and additional prayers.
