Nineteen-Day Fast begins

The Nineteen-Day Fast is observed by members of the Bahá’í Faith in the days leading up to Naw-Rúz, the Bahá’í New Year. It is a period of prayer, reflection and spiritual renewal, with fasting observed from sunrise to sunset by those who are able.

Event Suggestions:
• Learn about the Bahá’í calendar and the meaning of Naw-Rúz
• Discuss fasting as a practice of reflection in different faiths
• Create a quiet activity focused on renewal, gratitude and service
