Austria’s National Day commemorates the country’s Declaration of Neutrality in 1955. This day celebrates Austria’s political developments following World War II and honours the victims of resistance by laying a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. On this day, new recruits are sworn in to the Austrian armed forces.
