Martyrdom of Guru Arjan

Also called ‘Chabeel Day’, this Sikh observance commemorates the 1606 martyrdom of Guru Arjan Dev, the fifth Sikh Guru. The day honours his faith, courage and contribution to Sikh teachings, and is often marked through prayer, remembrance and the sharing of chabeel, a cooling sweet drink offered in the spirit of service.
