Martin Luther King Jr Day (USA)

Martin Luther King Jr Day is a United States federal holiday observed on the third Monday of January to honour the life and legacy of civil rights leader Dr Martin Luther King Jr. The day recognises his work for racial justice, nonviolent protest, equality, and human rights. Many communities mark the day through education, reflection, service projects, and conversations about continuing the work of justice and inclusion.

Event Suggestions:
• Discuss Dr King’s speeches, nonviolent activism, and the civil rights movement
• Organise a service activity connected to justice, inclusion, or community care
• Create a display about civil rights history and the ongoing work for equality
