Korean American Day

Korean American Day honours the arrival of the first Korean immigrants to the United States in 1903 and recognises the Korean American community’s contributions to culture, business, public life and society. This day encourages people from diverse communities to appreciate Korean communities and culture by supporting Korean small businesses, enjoying their food and music, and learning more about the country. It also creates space to recognise migration history, cultural exchange and the continuing impact of Korean Americans across generations.

Event suggestions:
• Exploring historical milestones through guided community memory circles
• Creating heritage displays honouring civic resilience and identity
• Listening to songs and stories tied to public remembrance
