Juneteenth / Freedom Day (US)

Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day, commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in the United States. It became a federal public holiday in 2021 and is observed through remembrance, education and celebration of African American culture. The day honours resilience and freedom while encouraging ongoing reflection on equality, justice and civil rights.
