International Translation Day

International Translation Day is a United Nations observance that honours translators, interpreters, and other language professionals. Connected with the feast of St. Jerome, the day recognises how translation supports dialogue, cultural understanding, access to information, and cooperation between communities.

Event Suggestions:
• Try a translation activity comparing meaning, tone, and cultural context
• Create a display about translators, interpreters, and multilingual communities
• Discuss how translation helps people share stories, knowledge, and rights
