International Dog Day

International Dog Day celebrates the companionship, service and cultural significance of dogs while also drawing attention to responsible care and adoption. It recognises the many roles dogs play in families, communities, assistance work, rescue services and public safety. The day encourages kindness toward dogs and support for shelters, handlers and organisations that protect animal welfare.

Event Suggestions:
• Hosting a responsible pet care session with local welfare or rescue groups
• Sharing stories about service, assistance and companion dogs in community life
• Creating donation drives for shelters with education on adoption and animal care
