International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking raises awareness of the harms caused by drug misuse and illegal drug trafficking. Established by the United Nations, the day supports prevention, treatment, rehabilitation and community-based responses. It also encourages evidence-based education and international cooperation to reduce harm and protect health, safety and human dignity.
