13 June
International Albinism Awareness Day was established by the United Nations in 2014 to recognise the rights, achievements and challenges of people with albinism worldwide. The day raises awareness, challenges discrimination and promotes access to education, healthcare and equal opportunities. It also celebrates the contributions of people with albinism and encourages communities to build greater understanding, respect and inclusion.
Event Suggestions:
• Share awareness resources about albinism and inclusion
• Discuss how discrimination affects access to health and education
• Create a respect and visibility display celebrating human diversity
