Aka Fourth of July, Independence Day commemorates the passage of The Declaration of Independence by the Continental Congress on 4 July 1776. The Continental Congress declared that the thirteen colonies were no longer under the rule of Great Britain. It is a day of pride for Americans, celebrated with barbecues, carnivals, picnics, concerts and firework displays.
