Hartalika Teej

Hartalika Teej is a Hindu festival dedicated to Goddess Parvati and Lord Shiva, and is observed in parts of India and Nepal. Many women mark the day through fasting, prayer, songs, rituals and festive dress, often wearing red or green. The festival is associated with devotion, marital wellbeing, family blessings and the story of Parvati’s devotion to Shiva.

Event Suggestions:

• Creating decorations or crafts inspired by Teej colours, songs and symbols
• Exploring women’s devotional traditions, fasting and family blessing rituals with care
