Duchenne Awareness Day

Duchenne Awareness Day is observed on 7 September to raise awareness of Duchenne and Becker muscular dystrophy. These genetic conditions can cause progressive muscle weakness and affect movement, learning, behaviour and daily life. The day encourages education, early diagnosis, support for families and recognition of people living with Duchenne and Becker muscular dystrophy.

Event Suggestions:
• Creating an awareness display about Duchenne, Becker and support services
• Sharing accessible educational resources about muscular dystrophy and inclusion
• Hosting a fundraiser or community activity supporting research and family care
