Candlemas is a Christian feast day that commemorates the presentation of Jesus in the Temple and is associated with light, purification, and the close of the Christmas season in some traditions. It is also known by names such as the Feast of the Presentation of Jesus Christ and the Feast of the Purification of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Many communities mark the day through church services, candle blessings, processions, and reflection on renewal and faith.
