18 June
Autistic Pride Day, initiated in 2005 by the global autism rights platform ‘Aspies For Freedom’, is a celebration led by the autistic community. It recognises autistic people as valued members of human neurodiversity and promotes acceptance, self-advocacy and inclusion. The day encourages communities to listen to autistic voices and respect different ways of thinking, communicating and experiencing the world.
Event Suggestions:
• Share autistic-led resources about neurodiversity and inclusion
• Create a sensory-aware display or quiet reflection space
• Discuss respectful language, accessibility and self-advocacy
