National Hat Day (Australia)

National Hat Day encourages Australians to wear a hat and make a donation in support of mental health research. The campaign uses hats as a symbol of “lifting the lid” on mental illness and raises awareness of conditions such as depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, and other mental health challenges.

Event Suggestions:
• Wear hats to start a respectful conversation about mental health
• Create a mental health awareness display with support resources
• Discuss how fundraising and research can support community wellbeing
