26 October
Intersex Awareness Day marks the first public demonstration by intersex people in North America in 1996. The day promotes human rights, visibility, and greater understanding of intersex experiences. It also calls for an end to shame, secrecy, discrimination, and non-consensual medical interventions affecting intersex people.
Event Suggestions:
• Creating resource displays that explain intersex awareness and human rights
• Hosting conversations about bodily autonomy, respect, and inclusive language
• Sharing actions that support dignity, visibility, and safer communities
