24 March
This United Nations observance honours the right to truth concerning serious human rights violations and the dignity of victims. It also pays tribute to Archbishop Óscar Arnulfo Romero of El Salvador, who was killed in 1980 after speaking out against injustice and violence. The day encourages remembrance, accountability and respect for victims and their families.
