National Sorry Day (Australia)

National Sorry Day marks the anniversary of the 1997 tabling of the Bringing Them Home report to Parliament. It acknowledges the mistreatment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, the trauma experienced by the Stolen Generations, and the strength, resilience and continuing cultures of First Nations communities.

Event Suggestions:
• Learn from First Nations-led resources about the Stolen Generations
• Create a respectful reflection activity about truth-telling and healing
• Discuss why listening, acknowledgement and justice matter
