Self-Injury Awareness Day

Self-Injury Awareness Day (also known as Self-Harm Awareness Day) is observed annually on 1 March to raise awareness of self-injury and reduce stigma surrounding the issue. The day encourages understanding, compassion and open conversations about mental health, while highlighting the importance of early support, access to care and recovery. Communities use the observance to promote education, encourage help-seeking and support the wellbeing of those affected.

Event Suggestions:
• Hosting a mental health awareness session that promotes understanding, self-care and available support services
• Sharing resources that encourage compassionate conversations and help-seeking for mental wellbeing
• Creating a wellbeing display that highlights coping strategies, resilience and community support networks
