Read a Book Day

Read a Book Day encourages people to make time for reading and celebrate the role books play in learning, imagination and connection. The observance can be marked through personal reading, shared story sessions, library visits or book exchanges. It also highlights how books preserve culture, inspire curiosity and make knowledge accessible across generations.

Event Suggestions:
• Organising a community read-aloud featuring stories from diverse cultures and perspectives
• Hosting a book swap with multilingual recommendations and reader review cards
• Setting aside quiet reading time followed by small-group discussions about favourite books and ideas
