National Coming Out Day (USA)

National Coming Out Day raises awareness and supports LGBTQIA+ people in embracing and sharing their identities when safe and right for them. First celebrated in the United States in 1988, the day encourages visibility, allyship, and support while recognising that coming out is personal and different for everyone.

Event Suggestions:
• Create an inclusive display about LGBTQIA+ visibility and allyship
• Discuss respectful language, privacy, safety, and support
• Share resources that help create welcoming spaces for queer communities
