Heroes and Forefathers Day is observed in the British Virgin Islands on the third Monday of October. Introduced to better reflect Virgin Islands culture and history, it honours the people whose courage, leadership, and service helped shape the territory. The day invites reflection on heritage, community identity, and the achievements of earlier generations.

Event Suggestions:
• Creating a heritage wall honouring local heroes and community forebears
• Sharing oral histories about leadership, service, and cultural identity
• Mapping important moments in Virgin Islands history through timelines and artefacts
