International Volunteer Day

International Volunteer Day, established by the United Nations in 1985, recognises the contribution of volunteers at local, national, and international levels. The day celebrates people who give their time and skills to support communities, advance inclusion, respond to shared challenges, and contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals.

Event Suggestions:
• Invite participants to share stories of volunteering in their communities
• Create a volunteer action board with small, practical ways to help
• Recognise local volunteers and discuss how service strengthens belonging
