Bangladesh Independence Day, also known as National Day, commemorates the country’s declaration of independence from Pakistan in 1971. The day honours the sacrifices made during the Bangladesh Liberation War and celebrates the resilience, culture and national identity of the Bangladeshi people through ceremonies, flags, music and public remembrance.
