Eid al-Adha, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice, is one of the most significant Islamic holy days. It marks the end of the Hajj pilgrimage and honours the story of Prophet Ibrāhīm’s devotion and trust in Allah. The day is observed with special prayers, charity, family gatherings, shared meals and acts of generosity, and many Muslims take time away from work or school to celebrate.
